Windows Phone Mango features previewed at MIX11 (video)

Engadget captured the juice of Mango straight from MIX11 keynotes for us.Joe Belfiore and Scott Guthrie show fruity features from the upcoming version of Windows Phone, codenamed Mango, expected later this year.In the first part of the video, Joe Belfiore shows off cool Mango features. After February’s announcement at WPC in Barcelona to support IE9 and multitasking, this time Joe shows a lot more:Grouping and search for installed apps, marketplace search pivoted per type (Apps, Music, Podcasts), improved app panel and install process.Ringtones, multitasking and new search result panels.

App integration with search, deep linked Live Tiles, alerts and directions.

An IE9 and HTML 5 with an hardware accelerated race against iPhone and Android.

Motion sensor APIs for augmented-reality apps.

Upcoming apps like Spotify and Angry Birds, finally confirmed for May 25th.

Scott Guthrie then shows technical improvements on the UI elements, app startup and new raw camera APIs. Most of the improvements come with no code changes for the developers: free Mango juice for everyone!
