Mahjong Solitaire Touch: intriguing pastime for WP7

The Mahjong Solitaire is a puzzle game using Mahjong tiles: start from a tile layout (Turtle is the classic one); match the free tiles two by two to remove them and reveal new ones. There are 144 tiles to work with: continue until you clear the entire board.

Mahjong is a fantastic solitaire: it’s not hard to pick up, but completing boards require strategy and reasoning. The guys at Deadly Red Cube delivered a great implementation on WP7, the board can be zoomed and placed in portrait or landscape mode. Layers can be colored to better identify them (turn off this option if you are a classic player, but expect to miss some moves as it’s hard to see the tiers on a small screen). For beginners there’s help indicating available moved and an undo button.

There are six different layouts to choose from, that gives great value and variety to this free game (yeah it’s free – at least for now!).
